Technical References

This page references NIEM technical specification, guidance, and resource artifacts. Specifications are normative documents that detail explicit NIEM conformance requirements such as rules, principles, definitions, formats, interfaces, etc. Guidelines are non-normative documents that detail NIEM best practices, how to employ particular techniques, recommendations for implementation, etc. Resources are normative NIEM artifacts (often identified in specification appendices) that define NIEM formats, tools, tool inputs and outputs, interfaces, etc. Resources are in standard native formats such as XML or XML schemas, XSLT stylesheets, OWL or RDF vocabularies, spreadsheets, etc. In some cases, associated files (e.g., illustrations or tables) are included with these artifacts.
